You’re Exactly on Time.

Hang on a second, I love that you’re here but have you read progress isn’t linear? I highly recommend flipping back to that blog post as a prerequisite for this one.

Great! Now you’re re-familiarized with the human experience of learning, un-learning and relearning and the cycle(s) we go through until we’re ready to embody our new ways of being.

Hint: that’s why you’re exactly on time!

Each of those experiences where you dusted yourself off after stepping into the muck taught you something that you needed to know. And each lesson you learn sets the foundation for the next. Like little stepping stones leading the way to a greater and infinitely wiser way of being.

Maybe it was a lesson on grace. Or perhaps you learned just how deep your desire for change is. Or maybe yet, it was a teaching on your capacity to continuously show up for yourself in the face of hardships.

Each challenge or obstacle you overcome is setting the foundation for you to arrive exactly on time at your next destination because you needed to learn those lessons to gain the skills necessary to progress to the following.

No one comes out of the womb sprinting - we all crawl, stand up, fall down, try again and again and then use what we learned to begin running. Therapy isn’t all that different.

This belief that you’re “behind” or that you “should already know this” isn’t loving towards yourself and stems from comparison. You’re individual healing journey is uniquely yours and ir-replicable. (Spellcheck is saying I made this word up, but what I’m trying to say is that no two paths towards healing will be the same and they cant be replicated by anyone who hasn’t had your exact life experiences). Therefore, this non-imitable, progress isn’t linear, journey is setting the stage for you to arrive EXACTLY on time.

Please let go of the self-critical beliefs that aren’t loving towards yourself. I know that can be a hard habit to kick, but imagine if you didn’t add that obstacle on your path towards healing and trusted your process! Now that’s something that gets me reaaaally excited for you.

I’m here in your corner with so much compassion and support. You’ve got this!
